
| Movie DescriptionGathered together in the Bahamas for their annual one-week reunion, four close couples eagerly reconnect, sharing news about their lives and relationships. But their intimate week in paradise is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Sheila's (Jill Scott) ex-husband, Mike (Richard T. Jones), who is suddenly being nice to everyone which raises suspicion amongst the others. Mike shows up unexpected and is still married to Trina, Sheila's ex-best friend but she is never seen in the film, only referenced. Sheila's new husband Troy (Lamman Rucker) is having trouble finding a job since they moved from Colorado to Atlanta. Dianne (Sharon Leal) is suddenly very happy and full of energy. This prompts Terry (Tyler Perry) to suspect that she's cheating. Angela (Tasha Smith) fears that Marcus can't be faithful since he has a high-paying job as a sportscaster and has a lot of female fans. Later while Dianne, Patrica, Sheila, and Angela are at the beach they met a friendly elderly couple (Louis Gossett Jr. and Cicely Tyson). They later share a story about their romance and marriage at their "Why Did I Get Married?" ceremony. At the ceremony, Patricia (Janet Jackson) announces that she and Gavin (Malik Yoba) are divorcing. Gavin did not know Patricia was going to pick that moment to break the news to their friends and was unaware that she even wanted a divorce. He walks away from her upset. While standing by herself, Patricia promises the other couples that she and Gavin are going to be the best of friends despite their divorce. After the trip, Gavin and his lawyer meet with Patricia and her lawyer - Dianne. Gavin and Patricia agree to split everything down the middle but Patricia does not include her personal account, which holds the money she made from her book, in the settlement agreement. Patricia refuses to give him money from this account. He believeed that it was "their" money, too. They bicker a little until Patricia leaves the room. Before Dianne can leave, Gavin he tells her to tell Patricia to get ready for "a fight". |
